"Best Vocalist Of The Month” Competition Winners
We are pleased to spotlight and honor our Twelve "Best Vocalist Of The Month" Competiton Winners for 2011. These monthly winners submitted the best vocal performances for our singing competition during the past year. All twelve winners are deserving of continued recognition and exposure. The winning performances were in many different genres of music, from pop, AC, rock, country, R&B, soul, Americana, blues and jazz.
2011 "Best Vocalist Of The Month" Competition Winners.
Our "Best Vocalist Of The Month" Competition was launched in October 2004. There have been many talented winners who have achieved success in the music business. Notably, our August 2007 "Best Vocalist" winner, singer/songwriter Chloe Leighton, signed a major label deal with Beluga Heights/Warner Bros. Records, which is owned by top writer/producer J.R. Rotem and features hit artists Jason Derulo and Sean Kingston.
Other top artists have entered and won our Best Vocalist competition. In January 2009, Perla Batalla, a prominent indie artist who is known for touring with Leonard Cohen, won our competition. And a recent winner (November 2010) was Aaron Pritchett, who is a hit country artist in Canada.
In addition to our monthly song contest, our other music site, SongwriterUniverse, hosts the equally popular "Best Song Of The Month" Contest. Notably, our January 2006 winner Levi Kreis, has gone on to become an award-winning musical performer on Broadway. He currently stars in the acclaimed hit musical, Million Dollar Quartet, and he won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor In A Musical (for his role of Jerry Lee Lewis). Kreis is also a singer/songwriter who has released four albums. Kreis won our song contest for co-writing his song, "I Should Go."
Also, two of our past song contest winners, pop/R&B writer/artist Matt Palmer and Sarah Lewis of the pop/rock band Jag Star, received staff writer/music publishing deals with HoriPro Music Publishing (where I work as Executive Consultant). Notably, Matt Palmer recently landed a cut on the new hit album by boy band Big Time Rush. His song also appeared in an episode of the group's TV series..
Via our "Best Vocalist Of The Month" and "Best Song Of The Month" contests, we look forward to spotlighting & honoring excellent new singers, artists and songwriters in 2012, and for years to come.
