Alex Bach
Alex Bach, an exceptional, rock singer/songwriter based in West Palm Beach, FL, has won the February SingerUniverse "Best Vocalist Of The Month" Competition, for her performance of her song "Blame God Instead." Bach is a well known, independent artist who sold an impressive 30,000 units of her first album, Miles To Go. She will be recording her new album with top producer Dave Fortman (who produced Evanescence's multi-platinum album, Fallen).
"Blame God Instead" is an intense, modern rock cut which showcases Bach's powerful vocal performance. It immediately becomes clear that Bach displays the vocal strength of a Pat Benatar, although she has her own sound and style. The recording is also well produced, featuring solid band tracks played by Bach (guitar) and her band.
Bach is now based in Florida, but she grew up living in several countries on three continents (in the U.S., France and in the Middle East; her father worked in the hotel industry). She attended a performing arts school for a year when she was 13, but it wasn?t until college that she seriously focused on music. "I was a late bloomer in terms of my music," explained Bach. "I didn't realize that I had a calling as a songwriter until my sophomore year of college. I started singing and playing guitar along with my songwriting; it all developed around this time."

She subsequently left college (with no regrets) to work fulltime on her music. In October 2001, Bach released her first album, Miles To Go, which was more in a pop-rock genre a la Sheryl Crow. Due to steady touring (in the U.S., Europe and a special tour in late 2003, performing for the U.S. troops) and strong marketing, the album eventually sold 30,000 units. Her success also led to her forming coveted alliances with top, music sponsors. In fact, she has designed an Alex Bach Signature Model guitar for Peavey (called the "Empress Guitar"), which will be released this summer.
Currently, Bach is nearly finished writing all of the songs for her second CD. "My new album will be more modern rock, with harder, angrier, heavier songs," said Bach. "I've learned that I'm a very angry person, and that's okay. I believe my songwriting has matured, and I like writing songs that give people an outlet for their frustration."
Bach should be releasing her new album this summer. She has recently taken meetings with major labels regarding the release of her album. "I'm excited about recording my new album with Dave Fortman, and I will do whatever it takes to get my music heard by the greatest number of people."
