Coaching singers is not a sideline for me. As a vocal coach, music arranger, accompanist, conductor, and Music Director, I’ve been helping singers prepare their songs for performances on stage and at auditions for over 25 years. My studio is located in New York City, and I am available for private sessions by appointment, and also will arrange master classes for groups of students. My college degree is in speech-voice pathology, and my students include cast members of almost every current Broadway show. I have an extensive music library and knowledge of repertoire, and recommended by many agents and managers.

Tina Shafer is a top vocal coach in NYC who comes to teaching from years of training in some of the country's top Conservatories, and Clinic with the late Dr. Gould, (Celine Dion). She also works with Dr. Sarah Stackpole, a top voice Doctor in NY. She is unique as a teacher because she comes from a performing background as a singer/songwriter (John Oates, Marc Cohn, Gavin DeGraw). She has trained some of todays top stars ranging from Avril Lavigne to Lana Del Rey, Gabe Saporta (Cobra Starship). She teaches one technique that you can sing whatever style you want with. She also works in vocal therapy for people who have had surgery and who have had vocal damage. She is also the Artistic Director of the famed New York Songwriters CIrcle, one of the most established showcases for talent in the country dating back to 1991.
